Really, where has the time gone? Katelyn is about to be 18 months *gulp* These past few months just flew right by. When she was in her "baby stages" I sort of knew what to expect- rolling over, sitting up, starting solids, crawling, toddlin', walking... but the toddler stages are just crazy! There are milestones with toddlers but they seem to happen in spruts and out of no where!
I remember when Katelyn was trying to walk, I knew she was so CLOSE... we were *almost* there.... but with the toddler stages things just happen and I sit there and think- what??? Where did you learn that from?
The park is a favorite place of hers. She goes with grandpa a lot and their 15 minutes at the park slowly turned into 30 minutes and then into an hour. When he tries to leave, she throws a TANTRUM. HAHAHA. Don't take it personally grandpa, she just has too much fun with you!
When we take walks and it is close to bedtime, I purposely AVOID passing any park. She is not happy when we pass a park and don't get out to play.
She still loves her monkey. We have a video monitor in her room and when she is waking up she starts to hug and kiss her monkey. She lets monkey drink from her sippy, she feeds him, washes him at her water table - then started saying UH OHHHH, I had to give her a mini towel to dry him off... They sit in their house together (She has a play cottage with seats inside) , we play ring around the rosie with the monkey, I brush her teeth and she brushes monkeys teeth- or would it be his lips since he has no teeth?! Monkey is always with us. She even acts like a monkey- making the noises and movements. HAHA. She learned that from the zoo.
Rick took a mini version of her monkey with him on deployment and when he uses the United Thru Reading Program on board, he lets monkey do some talking. She cracks up. I have to keep pressing play when the DVD is over, otherwise she runs up to the TV and starts to smack it saying UH OHHH until he is playing again. She sits to watch him for the first 1-3 times, then afterwards she prefers that he be "on" while she runs around and plays. If she doesn't hear his voice- back to the TV smacking it... Or if I am in the other room, she will run and hand me the remote. It is so sweet :)
I thought I would run by a list of some of her favorites
Favorite Fruit- any type really! She is still a fruit gobblin'
Favorite vegetable - peas and asparagus. I think asparagus triumps over peas most days...
Favorite animal - her monkey, did I even need to list this?
Favorite TV show - Rick's DVD of him reading her a book, followed by Curious George.
Favorite breakfast - oatmeal
Favorite food - spaghetti (Did you know that I HATED spaghetti when I was pregnant with her?)
Favorite book - She is a big fan of the Priddy brand books, but lately she also likes "Polar Bear Polar Bear what do you hear?" along with "Panda Bear Panda Bear what do you see?"
